2nd International Conference on Droplets: Fundamentals and Applications of Micro- and Nanofluidics, October 6–8th, 2015 in the University of Twente, The Netherlands

Liquid droplets are of prime importance for many natural phenomena as well as for a broad variety of industrial processes. The aim of the 3-day international workshop Droplets 2015 is to bring together researchers working on droplets in the broad sense: from pure to complex fluids, from impact to evaporation, covering experimental, theoretical, and industrial perspectives. The workshop builds upon the successful Droplets 2013 workshop held in Marseille, and we are pleased to be able to continue the tradition.

The response from the community to our invitation to participate in this conference has been overwhelming. We are also very glad to welcome many participants from industry. We by far could not accommodate all requests for oral contributions, but we think that we put together an excellent scientific program consisting of keynote lectures, three parallel sessions, and a very strong poster session to which we will devote sufficient time. The program around these sessions will give you ample time for stimulating scientific exchange with your colleagues. We take the opportunity to thank the various sponsors of Droplets 2015 for their support and of course you for your interest and participation.

The conference consisted of 7 keynote lectures:
  • COLIN BAIN
  • MICHAEL BRENNER
  • DAVID BRUTIN
  • HANS-JÜRGEN BUTT
  • EMMANUEL VILLERMAUX
  • STEPHEN WILSON
  • XUEHUA ZHANG
